Wolverhampton Destination Guide
Welcome to Wolverhampton, a vibrant and historic city known for its role within the wool trade. Interestingly, natives of Wolverhampton are called 'Wulfrunians', most likely because it was founded by Lady Wulfruna, who named the city. There’s no denying the Wolverhampton accent can raise a smile, but the chances are Wolverhampton was laughing at the rest of us when it became the first town in Britain to introduce automated traffic lights. It is also home to 70s rock band Slade, Beverly Knight, Goldie, Lil Wayne’s hip hop producer S-X and Killing Joke’s Paul Raven.
